Hi! My name is Alicia [A-LEE-sia] Young, and I am a wedding and portrait photographer located in northern Virginia. I am a wife to an amazing husband; mother to two, and stepmom to two! I am also a middle school English teacher in Loudoun County, Virginia!

I am a creative person in all aspects of my life. From making jewelry as a little girl, to writing and recording songs as a teenager, to designing fun and engaging lessons for my students as a seventh grade English teacher, and more recently, creating art with my camera, creativity runs through my blood. Photography has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn't until my husband encouraged me to take the risk that I had the courage to start my own business. It was probably one of the scariest things I've ever done--but it has also been the most gratifying and empowering. I'm seriously so grateful to have such support in my life.

These words are the foundation to my philosophy of photography. I genuinely believe that you cannot truly capture one's pure and special moments without first getting to know them. That's why I make it a point to learn something about each of my clients and to treat everyone a photograph as a friend. By doing so, my clients feel more comfortable and it shows in their photographs!

 

Photography isn't just about taking pictures. It's about the people in the photographs--their stories; and about preserving moments that they can look back on years from now to remember some of the most special moments of their lives.
